Saint Cassiani

Regular price $5.95

A delightful illustration of Saint Cassiani on a maple wooden block, based on traditional Eastern Christian iconography. She was a composer of hymns for our worship in the Church, many of which survive to this day. Most famously, she wrote the Hymn of Cassiani about the sinful woman who anointed Christ's feet, which is sung on Holy Wednesday. She is robed in her monastic cloak, and holds a pen and scroll, representing her hymns.

On the back, there is a simple, child-friendly prayer based on an Orthodox hymn to the saint.

Her name has many different spellings, including Kassiani, Kassiana, Kassia, Cassiana, Cassia, Casia, Eikasia, and Ikasia.

In Honor of Cassiana Gorodenchuk
